The Inspiration

Our modern, mobile lives have us constantly on the go, spending fragmented time in multiple locations; and quite often, new locations we have never been to. What happens when we add our figurative, and physical, connection to our phones, computers, portable media players, and various electronic gadgets to these very situations…? We end up with a bag bursting with chargers, cables, and adapters – all proprietary to a specific device, and dependant on an AC wall outlet that may, or may not, be accessible at the next location. Could one device reduce the number of chargers… reduce the need for wall outlets… and do it in a compact form factor, at a reasonable cost?

Meet WALLESS.

Many Devices, 1 Charger

Most portable devices today utilize a standard USB-A connector for data transfer and/or charging purposes. By using this standard USB-A port as the output, and developing intelligent circuitry, WALLESS instantly became usable to all these devices. Furthering this universality, WALLESS includes mini-USB and micro-USB cables in the box, which are used by more and more devices today; and will eventually become the standard (micro-USB) in the mobile telecom industry. This means not only “many devices, 1 charger”, but soon “many devices, 1 cable” as well.

Less Dependency on Wall Outlets

Not knowing where (or when) the next wall power outlet is going to be can become a stressful experience. This stress was reduced by providing WALLESS with the ability to become a portable power source, thanks to rechargeable battery technology. This allows you to become 2-3 (or more) times less dependent on those elusive wall outlets. When you do have access to a wall power outlet, WALLESS will top-off the installed batteries, while also charging your connected device, at the same time. However, WALLESS doesn’t stop there. What happens when you are unable to find another power outlet in time, and the installed batteries run dry…? Inserting another pair of rechargeable-AAs (from another device), or even a pair of fresh AA Alkalines will allow WALLESS to continue providing power to your device. This very situation gives WALLESS an essential advantage over the range of external “power blocks” that utilize built-in, non-removable Lithium-Ion battery packs.
